ISTE Standards

2.1 Learner

Educators continually improve their practice by learning from and with others and exploring proven and promising practices that leverage technology to improve student learning.

Educators:

2.1.a

Set professional learning goals to explore and apply pedagogical approaches made possible by technology and reflect on their effectiveness.

2.1.b

Pursue professional interests by creating and actively participating in local and global learning networks.

2.1.c

Stay current with research that supports improved student learning outcomes, including findings from the learning sciences.

2.2 Leader

Padlet:

a. Padlet asks students to share their thoughts on topics. This can be done by attaching notes onto the public board. 

b. By using the following resource, students showcase their knowledge by sharing their notes with the class. This resource provides enhancement by allowing the class to interact within a virtual setting.

c. This correlates with the following ISTE standards by allowing students to expand their knowledge through technology.

Twitter:

a. Twitter provides a platform for people to connect. As an educator, using twitter allows me to showcase and share my thoughts within the educational field. For example: if I am struggling to find an activity, I can contact other educators.

b. This resource is effective by allowing students to reach their standards

c. This resource allows educators to actively participate in local and global learning networks.

Educators seek out opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment and success and to improve teaching and learning.

 

Educators:

2.2.a

Shape, advance and accelerate a shared vision for empowered learning with technology by engaging with education stakeholders.

2.2.b

Advocate for equitable access to educational technology, digital content and learning opportunities to meet the diverse needs of all students.

2.2.c

Model for colleagues the identification, exploration, evaluation, curation and adoption of new digital resources and tools for learning.

STEM Bus:

a. This event allowed educators the opportunity to demonstrate technological resources in a classroom setting

b. This resource provides enhancement within a classroom setting by educated students that is only possible through technological resources.

c. This correlates with the ISTE standard by providing educators the opportunity  for leadership.

Virtual Reading:

a. Provided educators the opprotunity to teach literature via Zoom.

b. This resource provides enhancement within a classroom setting by showing the ability to complete reading via online

c. This resource allows educators to actively participate in local and global learning networks.

2.3 Citizen

Educators inspire students to positively contribute to and responsibly participate in the digital world.

2.3.a

Create experiences for learners to make positive, socially responsible contributions and exhibit empathetic behavior online that build relationships and community.

2.3.b

Establish a learning culture that promotes curiosity and critical examination of online resources and fosters digital literacy and media fluency.

2.3.c

Mentor students in safe, legal and ethical practices with digital tools and the protection of intellectual rights and property.

2.3.d

Model and promote management of personal data and digital identity and protect student data privacy.

c. This correlates with the ISTE standard by allowing students to explore technology tools within each station. They can use their thinking skills to apply their knowledge to life skills.

a. The following resource provides various resources assigned by the teacher for students to access and explore.

b. This resource helps save time that may have been used to find resources. It also helps students reach their learning objectives by exploring resources that fit their needs.

c. This resource correlates with the ISTE standard by encouraging students to explore the technological resources.

2.4 Collaborator

Educators dedicate time to collaborate with both colleagues and students to improve practice, discover and share resources and ideas, and solve problems.

 

Educators:

2.4.a

Dedicate planning time to collaborate with colleagues to create authentic learning experiences that leverage technology.

2.4.b

Collaborate and co-learn with students to discover and use new digital resources and diagnose and troubleshoot technology issues.

2.4.c

Use collaborative tools to expand students' authentic, real-world learning experiences by engaging virtually with experts, teams and students, locally and globally.

2.4.d

Demonstrate cultural competency when communicating with students, parents and colleagues and interact with them as co-collaborators in student learning.

Twitter:

a. Twitter is a tools that provides teachers the opportunity to communicate with one another via online.

b. This tool provides effectiveness by encouraging the teacher to use resources that will help improve her class's skills in  education.

c. This correlate with IST standards because it provides educators the ability solve classroom problems by contacting one another

Padlet allows students to share thoughts anonymously about topic that have discussed

b. Padlet enables students to connect with their class via online, which can only be showcased through technology

c,. this correlates with the ISTE standard by proving students the ability to problem solve/connect via online

2.5 Designer

Educators design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability.

 

Educators:

2.5.a

Use technology to create, adapt and personalize learning experiences that foster independent learning and accommodate learner differences and needs.

2.5.b

Design authentic learning activities that align with content area standards and use digital tools and resources to maximize active, deep learning.

2.5.c

Explore and apply instructional design principles to create innovative digital learning environments that engage and support learning.

Quizzez:

a. Quizzes allows students to practice their understanding skills of a topic by participating within questionnaires to gain points

b. this resource provides a way for students to expand their knowledge via technology

c. this correlates with the ISTE standard by allowing educators the ability to apply their creativity when creating a study set.

Fakebook:

a. Fakebook is an authentic version of Facebook but created by educators to create pages based on topics.

b. This source allows students to apply their knowledge on topics within a real life view.

c. This correlates with the ISTE standard by allowing educators to apply their creativity over a certain topic into a more engaging perspective.

2.6 Facilitator

Educators facilitate learning with technology to support student achievement of the ISTE Standards for Students.

 

Educators:

2.6.a

Foster a culture where students take ownership of their learning goals and outcomes in both independent and group settings.

2.6.b

Manage the use of technology and student learning strategies in digital platforms, virtual environments, hands-on makerspaces or in the field.

2.6.c

Create learning opportunities that challenge students to use a design process and computational thinking to innovate and solve problems.

2.6.d

Model and nurture creativity and creative expression to communicate ideas, knowledge or connections.

2.7 Analyst

Educators understand and use data to drive their instruction and support students in achieving their learning goals.

Use technology to design and implement a variety of formative and summative assessments that accommodate learner needs, provide timely feedback to students and inform instruction.

2.7.c

Use assessment data to guide progress and communicate with students, parents and education stakeholders to build student self-direction.

a. This resource allows educator to use their creative skills to create an interactvie online lesson

b. This resource provides engagement within a classroom setting by allowing teachers the ability to insert interactive activities through the lesson.

c. This correlate within the ISTE standard by providing educators the opportunity to use their knowledge in technology to create and online lesson plan.

Professional Development Evaluation

Throughout the semester, I have improved tremendously within using my technology skills. Many of the evaluation questions asked, I had little to no experience with. After viewing the illustrations below, attending W200 has helped increase my understanding of various technology tools.
